Lines to get into the parks will be long. If you want to make the most of your time, best practice is to plan to get to
security at Disneyland approximately an hour and a half before park opening. Gates into the park open approximately
half hour before theme park opening.
Rope Drop:
Rope Drop is when Disneyland cast members literally drop the rope at the end of Main Street to officially open the
Theme Park for the day.
Why is this important, you may ask?
It is important to there at rope drop if you want to capitalize on short lines and getting in a lot of attractions before the
crowds get to the parks. Aim to be there at least 1 hour before park opening.
This is the best time to experience low crowds and shorter wait times for rides.
If you have little ones, Fantasyland gets crowded in a hurry – Rope Drop Peter Pan’s Flight, Alice in Wonderland or
Dumbo the flying elephant – These rides fill up quick! If you are not enjoying the day with littler guests, I recommend
heading straight to Space Mountain in Tomorrowland if you are up for a thrill ride, or Rise of the Resistance in Star
Wars Galaxy’s Edge. These attractions are known to have wait times of 60 minutes+ most times, so visit them early.
